Lankum – False Lankum
Dublin-based band Lankum has announced the release of their fourth album, False Lankum, which follows their 2019 album, The Livelong Day. The previous album won the RTE Choice Music Prize in 2019 and was ranked #8 on NPR Music’s Best Albums of the Year list. The new album, produced by John 'Spud' Murphy, comprises 12 tracks, including 10 traditional songs, and will be released on 24th March 2023.
The band has described False Lankum as a complete piece, with 12 tracks that take the listener on a journey. The album showcases Lankum's increasingly experimental sound and unique use of traditional elements.
Lankum has already sold out most of their April/May tour dates and has added another night to their sold-out run at Vicar Street in Dublin. They will also be playing at The Roundhouse in London in December 2023, their biggest headline gig to date. The band will return to Amsterdam and Berlin in November 2023 and will play their first German tour.
The band's previous album, The Livelong Day, received high praise from various sources, including Mojo, The Irish Times, The Guardian, and Uncut.
The album can be pre-ordered on the band's website.
